LAPLACE — The St. John Parish Retired Teacher Association is hosting a Memorial Membership Dinner in honor of the late Herbert Smith.

Association members are handing out invitations for the event; however, all retired St. John the Baptist Parish Public School employees are invited.

The free event dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 27 at Belle Terre Country Club, 111 Fairway Drive in LaPlace.
