Keller: Great grandchildren fill us with love

Published 12:01 am Saturday, July 14, 2018

When Jeanne and I got married, we agreed and intended to have 10 children, but because of her condition, she had Caesarean sections and was limited to four.

We believe that children are a gift from God and we were blessed with special gifts.

Our children were responsible for the next chapter in our lives by giving us 15 grandchildren.

Proverbs 17:6 says: “Children’s children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father.” I’m grateful for the crown that God gave me.

It’s hard for Jeanne and I to imagine that anyone could love them more than we do, but we know God does.

We pray daily that He protects them from evil and that they will all know Jesus as the Lord of their lives.

The chapter we are now experiencing is great grandchildren. We have 12 and are expecting to have 16 by the end of this year.

Monique and Frank are expecting their third child in August, and also in August, Amanda and Joseph are expecting their first. In December, expecting their first child are Tiffani and Bryton and Elise and David.

I didn’t find a Scripture about great grandchildren, but it’s as exciting as any chapter in our lives.

As I share this article with you, I’m reminded of I Corinthians 2:9, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
