Ret. SFC Billy Joe Temple Sr., 82, a resident of Summit, Miss., passed away July 11, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 14, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until services at noon at Hartman Jones Funeral Home, 1801 Delaware Ave, Dr. Woody Rimes will officiate.

Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Temple was born April 15, 1936, in Stringer, Miss., to Clifton Temple and Eula Temple Hutto. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in McComb.

Mr. Temple was a dedicated U.S. Army veteran, retiring after 21 and a half years of service. He served two tours in Korea and one in Vietnam.

He was awarded the Medal of Valor, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

He had many hobbies, some of which included fishing, outdoors and buying vehicles.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Glaston Temple, Harold Temple, Collette Temple, Jean Aleman, Marylou Bedgood and Shirley Brewer.

Mr. Temple is survived by his wife; Aimee P. Temple; his children, Evelyne Mitchel and Patrick, Rose McCaskill and Stacy, Christine Holmes and Chris and Billy Joe Temple Jr. and Tiffany; his grandchildren, Lisa Fairbrother, Nicholas Mitchel, Daniel Barclay, Sarah Sandifer, William Hightower, Hayes Temple, Meredith Temple, Olivia Temple, Cameron Holmes and Ciara Bond; great grandchildren, Breanna, Deacon, Easton, Gracelyn, Noah, Nala, Henry, Mitch, Nolan, Noah, Charlye, Aubrey and Sawyer; along with a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be William Hightower, Nick Mitchel, Daniel Barclay, Hayes Temple, Deacon Wallace and Alan Jacquot.
