The TCC store in LaPlace, located at 901 W. Airline Highway, Suite F, is donating 220 backpacks on a first-come, first-served basis between 1 and 4 p.m. July 22. Backpacks are available on a first-come, first-served basis with one backpack per child present. Any age up to 18 is welcome.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) training begins July 24 and consists of 30 hours of combined classroom and independent study. Interested parties may call 225-647-2005. CASA volunteers spend approximately 10 hours a month gathering factual information from the child and important people in the child’s life.
