Destiny Christian joins youth effort

LAPLACE — Mentors with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club enjoyed joining Pastor Steve Allen and several young men at Destiny Christian Center in LaPlace for Game Truck Night last week.
Distinguished Gentlemen seeks to guide young men in building traits of good character while assisting them to obtain the skills needed to become positive influences in the community.
Applications for the 2018-19 Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club are being accepted. Young men in eighth through 12th grades at any high school in St. John the Baptist Parish may apply. Those interested in more can call Vernon Bailey Jr. at 985-359-8775 or Steven Faucheux at 985-359-8723.
