RESERVE — River Parishes Community College Reserve Campus instructor Steve Rogers recently led 23 local high school students through the start-up procedures for small scale process plant.
Students climbed a 40-foot tower and were shown how a basic tank and pump system works using a computer simulator.
The efforts were part of the Process Technology Department’s Shell/UNO Energy Camp, designed to expose students interested in studying science, mathematics, engineering and technology (STEM) to important science concepts, as well as resources and career opportunities with the oil, gas and energy industries.
