June 13, 1985: Cheryll Keating, left, secretary of the St. John Association of Educators, hands a check for $500 to Evelina Diggs of LaPlace, who won SJAE’s Las Vegas drawing. Diggs chose the cash instead of airline tickets to the Las Vegas resort. Keating made the presentation on behalf of Wilhelmina Armour, president of the organization.
June 12, 1975: Lenaire Alexis, a member of the Edgard Junior High 4-H Club, receives a camera for winning her division in the 1975 Louisiana Dairy Poster Contest. Holding the winning poster is J.W. Precht of Jennings, president of the American Dairy Association of Louisiana, who made the presentation at the June Dairy Month Kick-off Luncheon at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans.
