A local man was killed Sunday morning as the result of injuries suffered in a one-vehicle crash in Livingston Parish, Louisiana State Police said.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. , Troopers began investigating the crash on Louisiana 441 north, which took the life of 23-year-old Delvin Moore of LaPlace.

The initial investigation by State Police revealed the crash occurred as Moore was traveling northbound on Louisiana 441 in a 1999 GMC Yukon. For reasons still under investigation, Moore’s vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway.

Moore overcorrected to the right and lost control of his vehicle. Moore’s vehicle began to overturn and came to rest on its roof.

Moore was properly restrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but a toxicology sample will be taken from Moore for analysis.
