A St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office corporal was arrested and fired this week for video voyeurism, police said.

Sheriff Greg Champagne announced Wednesday that Corporal Ryan Weaver of the Sheriff’s Office’s Patrol Division was charged with one count of felony video voyeurism and one count of obstruction of justice.

Weaver, 42, had been with the SCSO for approximately 4 years.

“Only extended family members of Weaver are involved in this incident,” a Sheriff’s Office release from Champagne said.

“On May 23, our office received information about this incident which allegedly had occurred on May 17, 2018, and we began an investigation immediately. Weaver was placed on suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. After our detectives obtained an arrest warrant from Judge Timothy Marcel (Wednesday) morning, Weaver was terminated.”
