RESERVE — Police arrested a Reserve woman this week, connecting her to a targeted killing May 20 in LaPlace. Authorities are reiterating that detectives are working to make more arrests.
Sade Cherrell Lee, 31, of Reserve was charged Monday with accessory after the fact to second degree murder and obstruction of justice. She is being held in lieu of a $50,169.50 bond.
St. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said Lee assisted the perpetrators in attempting to evade capture.
“We are still investigating,” he said. “There is definitely a strong possibility that others will be arrested.”
Police have not released a potential motive following the 3 a.m. shooting death of Corey Anderson, who was killed while riding his motorcycle along Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace.
Anderson was found in a yard near the street with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Tregre said crime cameras captured the build up before, during and after Anderson’s death, the footage aiding the police investigation.
Three days after Anderson’s death, DeQuan Donnell Brown, 23, of Reserve turned himself in to authorities. He was booked with second degree murder and transferred to the St. Charles Parish correctional center, where he is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
“He has enemies in our jail and family of the deceased in jail,” Tregre said last month. “He has been classified as a person who cannot stay in our facility due to potential conflicts.”
Police said Brown’s prior arrests include charges of second degree murder and robbery with a firearm.
