Child, 4, killed in LaPlace shooting Tuesday night

- Police said a 4-year-old was killed during a LaPlace shooting Tuesday night.
LAPLACE — A 4-year-old was shot and killed in LaPlace Tuesday night, police said.
According to Sheriff’s Mike Tregre, the St. John Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls of shots fired along Joe Parquet Circle in LaPlace at approximately at 8:56 p.m.
Upon arrival officers found a male and a 4-year-old girl had been shot.
Tregre said the 4-year-old was pronounced deceased Tuesday evening at a LaPlace hospital, adding the male victim was airlifted to University Medical Center New Orleans.
