Local KCs top the state

At the recent 113rd Annual Knights Of Columbus, Louisiana State Convention, The Ascension of Our Lord, Council 9623, LaPlace, was recognized as the No. 1 council in the state for 2017-18.
The council scored a perfect 1,000 points, representing accomplishments in administration and activities.
This is the second year in a row AOL Council 9623 was ranked No. 1 in the state and marks the fifth time in the last six years the council is ranked No. 1 in the state.
The Council also was awarded The Community Service Award for The Hurricane Harvey Project, where the council went to Southwest Louisiana and Eastern Texas to cook and bring supplies to the Hurricane Harvey-impacted families.
The Council was also awarded The Youth Service Project for repair at a girls softball field and boys baseball field.
