Marathon donates $7.5K to body armor fund

LAPLACE — Sheriff Mike Tregre said he was “honored” recently to receive support by the thousands from local partner Marathon Petroleum – Garyville, which contributed directly to the safety of local officers.
Tregre accepted a $7,500 check May 14 from Marathon, with the money earmarked to support the St. John Sheriff’s Office body armor fund.
Individual vests cost $711.
Tregre thanked Marathon, adding the SJSO appreciates all body armor fund donations.
