Connor: Celebrate Skilled Nursing Care Week

Twin Oaks Nursing Home is Celebrating Life’s Stories This National Skilled Nursing Care Week.

In skilled nursing care centers across the country, each person has a unique story to tell. That’s why Twin Oaks Nursing Home is excited that the theme of this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week, taking place from May 13 to 19, is “Celebrating Life’s Stories.”

Taking time to listen to how life’s most significant events, relationships and experiences have shaped who others are today cultivates a shared sense of purpose and deeper understanding for both the narrator and the listener.

The theme for the observance, “Celebrating Life’s Stories,” pays tribute to the diverse perspectives that residents, families and staff bring to interactions every day in skilled nursing care centers and the surrounding communities.

Twin Oaks Nursing Home takes pride in better understanding our residents’ stories by offering a safe and comfortable setting in which to share stories and connect with others. We are home to 120 very special people, each of whom has still got a great deal to offer their community.

This year’s annual NSNCW observance recognizes the power of personal narratives and the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. Each person in the long and post-acute care community contributes a distinct perspective that enriches the story of each center.

Twin Oaks Nursing Home would like to invite you to come learn about our amazing residents and the work we do this National Skilled Nursing Care Week. On Friday (May 18), we would love for you to join us for our annual barbecue, held under the Oaks and begin “Celebrating Life’s Stories.”

This year’s celebration is particularly special to us, as we will also honor the wonderful work we have engaged in to achieve our FOUR STAR RATING. We are proud to be one of the top providers of skilled nursing care in the State of Louisiana, and even across the Nation.
