St. Joan of Arc Catholic School recently held its annual May Crowning.
In the Catholic Church, May is the month dedicated to honoring Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Students brought flowers to leave at the statue of Mary as they entered the church. During the Mass, a crown of flowers was placed on the head of the statue while songs honoring the Virgin Mother were sung.

Religion teacher Andree Gurdian assisted second graders Layla Torres and Kolin Tregre as they crowned the statue of Mary.
