St. John hosting National Economic Development Week, starting Monday

LAPLACE — St. John the Baptist Parish will join the country in celebrating Economic Development Week the week of May 7-12.
This celebration was created and is coordinated by The International Economic Development Council and will be the organization’s 92nd anniversary as the largest professional membership organization for economic developers.
Economic development commonly includes the creation of jobs and wealth, and the improvement of quality of life.
It also influences growth and restructuring of an economy to enhance the economic well-being of a community. Through the efforts of the Economic Development Department, all of these are being addressed through business training, business outreach and workforce development.
Please join the Economic Department and Parish officials in commemorating the week with a schedule of special events.
