LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish is running from LaPlace to Reserve to raise money for Special Olympics, and there is plenty of room for you to run or bike.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics begins its eight-mile path at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Frostop on Airline Highway in LaPlace and travels to Reserve, ending at St. Peter Church. Runners and bikers may participate.

The registration fee is $25 and includes a T-shirt.

A post run celebration will be held at Frenier’s Landing in LaPlace.
