Ascension of Our Lord students in Karin Douroux’s sixth grade art classes participated in the Debris Fish Workshop.
Through a partial grant from the River Region Arts & Humanities Council, Douroux was able to have artist Trish Ransom of Grand Coteau visit students and teach how to make a mixed media fish artwork using recycled materials.
Students learned about color mixing and painting techniques before learning about recycling, using carpenter’s and artist’s tools and some fun fish facts.
