LAPLACE — Eyeing a mid-May opening in LaPlace, new restaurant Louisiana Road House Steak promises to deliver a lagniappe of flavors — food selections with a little something extra to fit everyone’s tastes.
The restaurant will be stationed in Riverlands Shopping Center at 1338 West Airline Highway, the previous site of New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co.
Owner Ashour Raed Yaser said Louisiana Road House Steak’s menu includes everything from steak and seafood to Mexican and Italian.
“If your husband likes steak, we have it,” Yaser said. “If your daughter likes pasta, we’ve got that too. We like to have something for everyone at your table.”
After years of working his way up in the restaurant industry, Yaser operated the first Louisiana Road House Steak in Denham Springs from 2000 to 2005 until Hurricane Katrina struck.
He’s ready to reopen the restaurant’s doors, this time in the River Parishes, which he says needs more options.
LaPlace is an ideal location because it’s centrally located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge and sees a lot of traffic passing through, according to Yaser. With industries lined up and down the Mississippi River, there is potential to reach a blue-collar lunch crowd.
He hopes Louisiana Road House Steak attracts customers from nearby smaller towns, which are typically limited to fast food options.
The transition into the new location has been smooth thus far because the building already had a full kitchen, and no major construction is needed, Yaser said.
His focus is on cleaning and selecting decorations to immerse customers in a laid-back, Western atmosphere.
