- Grand Knight Mike Abbate of the Knights of Columbus Council 9623 presented awards to Ascension of Our Lord students who won the KC Free Throw Contest at the State Level, held at Teurlings High School in Lafayette. Winners were Prystyn Cambre, left, third place, age 9; Katherine Bergeron, right, second place, age 12; and Alex Melancon, center, first place, age 10. Melancon is the school’s first State Champion.
