SHREVEPORT — A sample of water taken from the West Bank of St. Charles Parish was named the best tasting water in Louisiana last week at the Louisiana Conference on Water Supply, Sewerage, and Industrial Wastes in Shreveport.
“Our Waterworks Department is a first class operation and always delivers a superb product to the residents of St. Charles Parish,” Parish President Larry Cochran said. “I’m glad they are getting the recognition they deserve; we are proud.”
The same sample also placed first in the South Central Region on March 14.
Last week’s conference promoted professionalism, provided training and created a forum for the exchange of information among those in the water and wastewater fields.
“It’s an honor to continuously be recognized by our peers for producing high quality water,” said Waterworks Director Robbie Brou. “We look forward to competing at the next level.”
The sample will compete in October to be named the best tasting in the Southwest Section of America Waterworks Association at their annual conference in Baton Rouge.
