8-year-old St. John Warriors claim Biddy Basketball Championship

- The 8-year-old St. John Warriors display their International Biddy Basketball title banner.
The 8-year-old St. John Warriors basketball team claimed the Division A International Biddy Basketball Champions title at a tournament hosted March 2-6 in Thibodaux.
Chayce Joseph holds his free throw runner-up trophy.
Teammates Mikhail Adams, Achtion Barnes, Naychan Clayton, Jireh Hall, Ja’juan Jackson, Chayce Joseph, De’marcus Mason, J’kyren Morris, Marcald Simon Jr., Chad Smith, Da’mon Scott and Ryan Taylor Jr. were led to victory under the direction of coaches Marcald Simon, Raynard Thomas and Chandra Joseph.
Several players were granted special awards.
Ja’juan Jackson and Achtion Barnes were recognized with plaques as All-American players, while Chayce Joseph received the free throw runner-up award.
Achtion Barnes also received the first place Hotshot award.
