- March 9, 1994: Cub Scout Troop 318 took a field trip to a place that most people don’t get to see. Sheriff Lloyd Johnson took the kids through his jail and the facilities at the sheriff’s office. The scouts got to see everything from the radio room to parts of the jail.

March 7, 1974: Donna Pierre, left, and Margo Samuel, both seniors at Second Ward High School, were chosen as the Beta Club Sweethearts of 1974. The two girls were honored at a ceremony at the school.
