Kenneth “Kenny” Joe Edmonds, 69, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 4, 2018, after a battle with lung cancer.

Kenny was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen Martin Edmonds for 51 years; father of Kenny Joe Edmonds Jr. (wife, Aimee), Kevin Edmonds (wife, Nikki) and Keith Edmonds (wife, Melissa); grandfather of Brooke, Brennan, Hannah, Kade, Emily and Lauren Edmonds; son of the late Joe Rudolph Edmonds and Dorris Applegit Edmonds; and brother of Diana Robinson and the late John Edmonds and Lorane Edmonds Sims.

He was born of June 19, 1948, in Fort Sill, Okla., where his father was stationed during his Army service. Kenny spent his early years traveling with his parents during his father’s military career until they settled in New Orleans.

Kenny was a LaPlace resident for over 40 years before his passing.

Upon settling down in LaPlace with his wife and children, Kenny founded a well-known business in the community, River Parish RV’s. He worked here for over 30 years.

His business of assisting others with camping and recreational vehicles was his pride and joy. He retired from the business and afterwards enjoyed his time camping with his wife Mary and watching his grandchildren play their favorite sports on the ball field.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace.

Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m.

Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
