Bad weather predicted into Tuesday morning in St. John Parish

According to the National Weather Service, a risk of severe weather is expected for Southeast Louisiana including St. John the Baptist Parish overnight Monday (March 5) through 7 a.m. Tuesday (March 6).
Showers and thunderstorms are predicted to impact the area, possibly with some becoming severe and bringing strong wind, hail and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Heavy rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts are possible overnight.
Residents should remain abreast of changing weather patterns and in the event any watches/warnings are called. Please dial 911 to report any issues or concerns.
Residents are also encouraged to clean and clear drains and catch basins around homes and businesses in anticipation for heavy rainfall.
St. John officials are closely monitoring forecasts and crews will be on call through the night in the event any issues arise.
