Ronco: Maw Maw Red enjoys milestone

My great-grandmother (Evelyn Dugas, aka Maw Maw Red) has been one of the biggest influences on my life.
When I was young, she was constantly traveling with her “Nifty Fifties” group, telling stories of all the places she’d been and bringing back trinkets that I still cherish. She’d take care of me before and after school, bringing me to the library and snowball stand. She loved cooking, always making crepes, eggs or whatever breakfast I wanted.

I remember playing “go fish” with her while watching her soap operas. I feel so humbled and grateful to have had her in my life for the past 25 years.
It’s a true inspiration to know that she’s lived 100 years (Feb. 20 birthday). I live in Colorado now but every time I visit home, her house is one of the first stops I want to make.
Being there makes me feel like a kid again.
