- Feb. 28, 1980: Chyress Cockburn is crowned “Growl Sweetheart” by 1979 Sweetheart Ricee Small in pageant ceremonies at Lutcher High School. Cockburn was selected from among 22 sweethearts of various Lutcher High clubs and organizations.
