Police: Woman hit in face while holding child

LAPLACE — A local man is behind bars, charged with striking his girlfriend and her teenage son in their heads.

Tory Oneil Robinson, 31, of LaPlace was arrested Friday. He is being held in lieu of a $7,000 bond, charged with two counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 500 block of Heritage Cove in LaPlace at 9 p.m. Feb. 13.

Police said a 34-year-old female told deputies a verbal argument with Robinson escalated into a physical altercation when Robinson struck the back of her head and threw her to the ground.

According authorities, Robinson assaulted the victim while she was holding their 1-year-old daughter.

During the altercation, the victim told police Robinson also struck her 15-year-old son in the face before leaving the home with the 1-year-old. Police said the victim refused medical treatment.
