- Feb. 15, 1979: Shirley Baker, right, director of the Title VII Pilot Reading and Math Program in St. John Parish, confers with Dr. Betty Martin, center, associate professor of elementary and secondary education at Southern University in New Orleans, and Dr. Marilyn Ray, chairwoman, division of education, Southern, New Orleans, during a workshop at the Media Center in Reserve.
