Eugene Joseph Motichek — “Gene the TV Man” — passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at the age of 80.

He was born in Madisonville and was a resident of LaPlace.

Gene was an avid fisherman and loved to craft wood.

He was the beloved husband of Rosalind Kugler Motichek for 58 years; father of Hope M. Duhe (Troy), Gretchen M. Landry and Stephen E. Motichek (Lisa); grandfather of Scott M. Walker, Angelina Landry, Christina Landry, Eliska M. Duhe, Travis M. Duhe (Kellie) and Ashley Siener; son of the late Marie Wager Motichek and Peter Paul Motichek; and brother of Inez M. Ohnesorge, Elsie M. Morgan (James), Rose M. Hesson (Sinclair), Karis Motichek, Franklin Motichek (Cheryl), Ronald Motichek and the late Peter Anthony Motichek(Marion) and Juliet M. Collins (Glen).

He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m.

Visitation is from 9 until 11:00 a.m. Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
