AOL students display citizenship, creative talent

- Ascension of Our Lord Principal Toni Ruiz presented trophies for Christian Citizenship to the following students for the 1st nine weeks: (front row, from left) Madison George, Kindergarten; Destin Ray & Pleasant Favorite, 1st Grade; Hailey Gutierrez & Felicity Louper, 2nd grade; (middle row, from left) Khloe Tregre & Aubrey Edwards, 3rd grade; Bailey Torres, 4th grade; Hannah Emery & Caylee Drexel, 5th grade; (back row, from left) Kyndin Breaux & Aimee Dauenhauer, 6th grade; and Hunter Lowry, 7th grade. A trophy was presented to students from each homeroom whose actions displayed their Christian values. The criteria for being selected included qualities such as being consistently kind, putting others first, and living out their faith.

Grand Knight Mike Abbate presented certificates to Ascension of Our Lord students (from left) Sadie LeBlanc, Javon Epps, and Katherine Bergeron for winning the Knights of Columbus Council #9623 “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest. The poster contest allows students to engage their creative talents while understanding the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas.
