Verna Mae Laiche Ruiz passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the age of 96.

She was a native of Edgard, a longtime resident of Reserve and a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 10 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jessie Ruiz; loving mother of Sharon Ruiz Rybolt (Henry) and Ralph Ruiz (Joyce); grandmother of Chip Rybolt, Angie Martel, Rachel Rybolt, Jessica George and Katie Foz (Ori); and great grandmother of Collin Martel and Emme George.
She was also predeceased by her parents, Bruno Laiche and Aimee Leger Laiche, and her siblings Wilbert Laiche and Ora Berthelot.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1550 Highway 44 in Reserve on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m.
Visitation will begin in church at 9:30 a.m.
Interment is in St. Peter Cemetery.
