LaPlace woman identified as homicide victim

- A local woman was found shot to death this morning near Louisiana 628 and Cardinal Street in LaPlace.
LAPLACE — A local woman was found dead this morning, the victim of gun violence, police said.
Authorities identified the woman as 39-year-old Tameka Robinson of LaPlace.
According to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre, detectives are investigating the case as a homicide.
Robinson’s body was found at approximately 3 a.m. Monday (Jan. 15) near Louisiana 628 and Cardinal Street in LaPlace.
The victim had been shot, Tregre said, adding no other information is available at this time.

Tipsters that call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward.
