The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police are participating in the National “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign with a DWI checkpoint for motorists at an undisclosed location on the East Bank of St. Charles Parish from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., starting Wednesday night.
During this holiday season, Sheriff Greg Champagne is offering local residents a ride home.
If you attend a party in St. Charles Parish and have consumed alcohol, simply call
985-783-6807 and a deputy will give you a free ride home.
Police said those who make the mistake and get behind the wheel impaired can also expect a ride, but it won’t be home, it will be to jail.
