Ernest “Buddy” Bailey

Ernest “Buddy” Bailey passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at the age of 82.
He was a native and lifelong resident of LaPlace.
Buddy was a parishioner and usher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
He owned and operated various businesses throughout his lifetime, most recently Bailey’s World Famous Andouille and Bailey’s Cajun Creole Roux Mix.
Buddy was the beloved husband of June Marie Decareaux Bailey for 61 years; loving father of E. J. Bailey (Marcelle), Lisa B. Doming (Mark) and the late Ron and Joseph Bailey; grandfather of Leslie Faucheux (Steven), Jay Bailey (Lori), Nicholas Christina, Nicole Doming and Blake Doming; great grandfather of Owen, Hartley, Brea, Bram, Brew, Reice and Leland; son of the late Albert and Victorine Avriel Bailey; and brother of Ferrel Bailey, Harold Bailey and the late Albert Bailey and Ida Mae Vice.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 529 W. 5th St., LaPlace, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 and again from 9:30 a.m. until noon Friday, Dec. 15, with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow at noon.
Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
