James “Jimmy” Oliver Myers passed away Nov. 25, 2017, at the age of 66.

Born Sept 8, 1951, in Morganza, he spent his final years living in LaPlace and Reserve.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Christina Schexnaydre Torres(Devin); granddaughters Bailey, Layla and Presley Torres; sisters Louise Perryman (Curt), Ann, Lois and Rose Graffia (Tony); brothers Neiltz (Darlene) and Paul (Kathryn) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Myers and Estelle Normand Myers.

Jimmy was a simple man with the kindest heart. He loved fishing, boiled seafood, racecars, Saints football and just being outside cruising around.

His closest friends would say he was a great and funny storyteller. He truly enjoyed spending time with friends, family and, especially, his granddaughters.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.
