The St. John Sheriff’s Office joined forces with residents Tuesday night for the annual Night Out Against Crime in St. John the Baptist Parish.

The event was a big success, authorities said, with officers attending 40 parties on the East and West Banks.

The Super Heroes are also known as Mike Dean, Daniel Materne, Brandon Barlow and Denise Bertrand.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said he and fellow officers were happy to visit residents in hopes of showing criminals the community and law enforcement are working together to fight crime in local neighborhoods.

Officers, the SJSO canine unit, SJSO characters McGruff the Crime Dog, Darren the DARE Lion, See-More the Bear and Kajun the K9 entertained children and adults.

The SJSO’s Super Heroes — Superman, Spider Man, Bat Man and Wonder Woman — also came together with residents to show solidarity against crime.
