LAPLACE — The expected approach and transition from Tropical Storm Nate to Hurricane Nate has impacted Friday night’s sports schedule for St. John the Baptist Parish.

School officials said Plaquemines Parish has begun to evacuate due to Hurricane Nate and the safety of students and staff remains first and foremost.

The first game is set for 3:45 p.m.

St. Charles Catholic High School’s football game Friday at Lusher Charter School in New Orleans has been moved from 7 to 6 p.m.

West St. John High’s home game Friday in Edgard and East St. John High’s road game in Destrehan remain scheduled for 7 p.m.
