LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic quarterback and outfielder Lloyd Nash went to his Twitter account last week to announce his commitment to Nicholls State University as a dual sport athlete.

The 5-foot-10, 155 pound Nash was the District 12-2A co-MVP after rushing for 887 yards and eight touchdowns and passing for 644 yards and four touchdowns.

He rushed for 102 yards and one score and passed for 87 yards in the loss to Riverside in the Division III state championship game.

Nash is expected to move to the secondary for the Colonels.

On the baseball diamond Nash utilizes his 4.4 forty speed as a stellar outfielder and base runner.

He hit .439 for the Comets with 23 RBIs and eight doubles this past season, while going 37-for-37 in stolen bases.

“He has that ‘it factor,’” St. Charles Catholic football coach Frank Monica said.

“He is exceptional. He’s our bell cow. Let’s face it, last year we were not going to the Superdome without him.”
