LAPLACE — Students in LaPlace can benefit from a national backpack giveaway this weekend.

The TCC store in LaPlace, located at 901 W. Airline Highway, Suite F, is donating 220 backpacks on a first-come, first-served basis between 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday.

It’s part of a larger effort where all TCC and Wireless Zone stores are teaming up to donate 172,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children through TCC’s annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway.

Since 2013, TCC has donated more than 505,000 backpacks filled with supplies to ensure children are prepared for school.
