No injuries were reported Friday at approximately 11:15 a.m. after St. John the Baptist Parish firefighters responded to a small blaze in the back of Jacob’s World Famous Andouille & Sausage on Airline Highway in LaPlace.

Employee Tony Valentine said one of the smokehouses was gutted.

“We’ll have to clean it out and rebuild it, but we’ve got two more,” Valentine said. “We’ve still got product to sell. We’re still in business.”

One firefighter had to be treated for dehydration.
