RESERVE — A Reserve man is behind bars this week, charged with attempted second degree murder.

Byron Griffith was arrested Thursday and is being held in lieu of a $125,000 bond.

As of Tuesday, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office officials are saying little about the events leading to Griffith’s arrest.

“Detectives are still investigating (the) Byron Griffith case, and they are not ready to release more info at this time,” said Angel Thompson, Sheriff’s Office public relations officer.

Attempts to reach Sheriff Mike Tregre were not successful.
