Brothers linked to business theft after Reserve arrests

RESERVE — A pair of brothers were arrested in connection with a burglary of a business in Reserve.
Deputies were conducting extra patrols in the area of Regala Park in Reserve Monday when they observed a Dodge Caravan leaving from behind South Central Technical College, which was closed.
Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was driven by Robert Lankford.
During a criminal history search, it was discovered Lankford had a suspended driver’s license. The passenger was identified as Ernest Lankford.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered several items of value in the rear of the van.
Ernest Lankford, 38, of Destrehan was booked with felony unauthorized entry of a place of business. He was released Tuesday on a $10,000 bond. In January, Ernest also was arrested for burglarizing a storage business in Reserve and a tire and repair shop in LaPlace.
Robert Lankford, 41, of LaPlace, was booked with felony unauthorized entry of a place of business and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was released Tuesday on a $5,500 bond.
