Garyville’s Dollar General robbed at gunpoint, 2 suspects sought

GARYVILLE — Two Dollar General employees were robbed at gunpoint Monday during a late-night holdup, police said.

According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, an unidentified female subject carrying a pistol and an unidentified male subject approached two employees as they were walking to their cars after closing the Garyville store on Old Louisiana 54 at approximately 10:20 p.m.

The robbers ordered the employees back into the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene in an unknown vehicle, possibly toward River Road.

Police described the gunwoman as black, in her late 20s, about 5-feet, 3-inches-tall with a stocky build. She was wearing all black clothes, a black cap and a bandanna with white designs covering her face.

The male robber is described as black, in his late teens, about 5-feet, 4-inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a dark colored striped shirt, dark colored pants, a black beanie and a black bandanna covering his face.

Both perpetrators were wearing blue medical latex gloves, police said.
