MANCHAC — Child Advocacy Services has been selected to receive all proceeds from the 2017 Middendorf’s Manchac Run.

The 9th annual event is set for Nov. 11 and features 10-mile, 10K and 5K races that start and finish at Middendorf’s Restaurant on Old Highway 51 in Manchac.

“We have so much fun on race day,” Middendorf’s owner Karen Pfeifer said. “Hundreds of people, tons of energy and excitement, and it’s all for a good cause. Child Advocacy Services is doing remarkable, necessary work, and we are extremely proud to support them.”

Child Advocacy Services is a private, non-profit organization based in Hammond that provides advocacy, clinical services and prevention resources to give voice, healing and security to children through their Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Child Advocacy Center (CAC) programs.

“We are so thankful to be the beneficiary of this year’s Middendorf’s Manchac Run,” Child Advocacy Services CEO Rob Carlisle said. “We are looking forward to cheering our hearts out, presenting custom finisher medallions and thanking everyone for making a difference in children’s lives.”

Middendorf’s Manchac Run is open to all runners and walkers, and participants will be treated to a post-race catfish dinner.
