MANCHAC — A Spring Fling benefiting Special Olympics is planned May 7 at Gators Den & Beacon Lounge and Lakeside in Manchac.

Organizers said proceeds benefit the Bayouland and Florida Parishes Special Olympics.

The event includes the annual Chef’s Best Cook-Off and there is still time to sign up to be a chef.

Sampler platters will be available for sale and there will be more than 15 great dishes to choose from.

$1.00 raffle tickets are being sold for a chance to win a flat screen TV, rod n reel combo or a Bass Pro gift certificate.
