In response to the community-wide blood shortage, employees of Louisiana Federal Credit Union recently donated 25 pints of blood in four hours.

“We love giving back to our community, and blood donations are a true service to humankind,” said Rhonda Hotard, Credit Union CEO. “It only takes a few minutes of our time and bears no cost. This small act may actually save lives. What can be more important than that?”

The Blood Center’s blood bus arrived onsite at the credit union to make it easy for employees to donate. Each pint of blood donated saves three lives, according to organizers, who said in four hours, employees donated enough blood to save 75 lives.

Louisiana Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution serving members in the River Parishes and Tangipahoa Parish region.
