Jean Rome Jr. passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the age of 86.

He was a native of Vacherie and a resident of LaPlace for the past 77 years.
Jean was a master craftsman and master of Cajun cuisine. His grandchildren are his world.
He was the loving father of Blane Rome Sr. (Shelley), Brent Rome (Stacey) and the late Bambi Jean Rome; papa of Dean Williams (Teresa), Nicole Panquerne (Christian), Blane Rome Jr., Aaron Rome, Alyssa Woessner, Brandon Rome, Courtney Rome, Reed Woessner, Shelby Rome, Seth Rome, Annie Rome and Layne Labat; and great grandfather of Elizabeth Browning, Lexi Williams, Landyn Woessner, Liam Woessner and Charlotte Panquerne.
Jean was the son of the late Elucia Murry and Jean Rome Sr. and brother of the late Thomas Rome Sr., I. A. “Tony” Rome, Russell Rome Sr., Lise Crabtree, Frieda Newcomb, Elucia Salzar, Edward J. Rome Sr., Eddie Rome, Clincy Rome, Sterling Rome, Amy Ockman and Mamel Rome.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of his life at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace on Friday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m.
Interment is in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
