Corrections Division gets serious in training

- POST Corrections officers practice defense moves.
The SJSO recently conducted POST training for Corrections Division officers from the SJSO as well as the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, who participated in the 92-hour POST Corrections training and graduated from the department’s second class.
While officers may work in Corrections without being a peace officer, the Corrections certification bestows a higher level of authority to carry out job duties.

In addition to the 92 hours of coursework, officers participated in 12 hours of training in less lethal practices and cell extractions.
