Officers were honored Feb. 10 to have Archbishop of New Orleans Gregory Aymond as the celebrant. Aymond reminded first responders how they should respond to the many challenges they face today.

He reminded them that they are the salt and light of the earth and encouraged them to preserve and let their light shine for others to see.

Principal Mary Schmidt said the annual Mass is celebrated to show appreciation for the men and women who protect and serve.
